第一场 大殿上
（解说：Long long ago,there was a king named Qi Xuan Wang.He liked listening to Yu very much.从前，齐国有个大王叫齐宣王，他特别喜欢听吹竽。）
大臣甲：Majesty,our country is so strong.We should have a team to play Yu.大王，我们齐国乃是当今第一强国，我们的竽队应该是天下第一！
大臣乙：Good idea.I think we can form a team of a hundred people to play for you.对。我建议组建一支百人大乐队，以显我大国之风采。
大臣甲：No.Two hundred at least.不，一百人太少了，最少也得二百人！
齐宣王：Three hundred! To show how powerful my country is.来人那，宣本王旨意，立即组建一支三百人的竽队，以显我大国之威。
众人齐（磕头）：Smart king!
（摆出招聘海报， 陆续有人来应聘，通过的排好队在一边。）
南郭先生上，边走边叨咕：My name is Nan Guo.I am lazy never work.I will blow YU for the king.That’s really a good job.I can’t pay YU at all,but I know how to act.我的名字叫南郭，好吃懒作不干活，听说大王要建竽队，这可是个大好活。要说吹竽我不会，拍马吹嘘还差不多。不过人多容易混，滥竽充数我有辙！（拿出竽，往竽眼里塞东西。）
抱着竽见大臣甲（鞠躬）：Good morning!
大臣甲（傲慢的）：Why do you come?
南郭： To play YU,Look!（递上银子）
大臣甲 : OK.OK.You must be very good at it.…行啊行啊，您一定吹得棒极了，是吗？
南郭： Sure!那当然了！（南郭先生走下）
大臣甲：（洋洋得意的）（回转身）Majesty! 300 people are ready.Please check.启禀大王，三百人乐队已招齐，请大王御览。
齐宣王：（高兴的）Great! Let them play right now.好，本王要立即听他们演奏！
（乐队九人上，南郭居中）大臣甲：Music! 奏乐！（音乐起）（一声尖利的声音，十分刺耳）（众人停，只有南郭仍在装腔作势的吹奏。）
齐宣王：（大怒）Who makes this noise? 什么人，吹出如此刺耳的声音，还不给我拿下！
大臣乙（抓住南郭的脖领）It’s him! He wants to hurt your ears.大王，就是他！他用这样的声音刺伤您的龙耳，真是罪该万死！
齐宣王：Heng! How dare you do that? Kill him! 哼，好大的胆子，推出去，杀！
众人齐：Smart King!大王圣明！
南郭（浑身发抖）：My… my… My king.Undeserved! 大…大……大王，小民冤……冤枉！
大臣甲：You cheat the king.You must die! 你欺君枉上，罪该万死，快推出去，杀！

南郭： Smart King! （磕头） Just now I saw a dragon over your head.It means you are the greatest king! You are long-lived.I was too excited.So I blew loudly! That’s my best wish for you!大王圣明！刚才小人正在吹竽，忽见大王头上金龙闪现， 这是上天的旨意，预示着我们齐国繁荣昌盛，预示着大王万寿无疆，小人看了内心无比激动，所以才吹奏出如此高亢嘹亮的乐音，以示对大王的无限祝福，祝大王万岁万岁万万岁！
齐宣王：（疑惑的）Really?果真如此吗？
南郭： My king.You’re so smart.How dare I cheat you? 大王明察秋毫，我怎敢欺骗大王呢？
齐宣王：That’s good.说的"好！
南郭：（指着大臣甲）But he,he cheats you! He is so bad to you! He should die! 可是他，竟然同着大王的面，诋毁大王，损我大王威名，此人不杀，上天不容，上天不容啊！
齐宣王：You’re right.Come on.Kill him!（指着大臣甲）大胆贼子！竟敢欺骗本王，犯上作乱，来人那，推出去，砍了！
大臣甲：No,no.let me go.Let me go!…小人冤枉，放开我！放开我！
齐宣王：Mr.Nan Guo is honest.Give him gold! 南郭先生,忠信可嘉，赏黄金百两！
众人齐：Smart King!大王圣明！
南郭（转身指挥竽队，得意洋洋）Music! 奏乐！
音乐起，南郭回到队中，装腔作势的吹竽。齐王大声喊好（Great!wonderful!）
齐宣王听竽，听到高兴时手舞足蹈，哈哈大笑，不料一直笑到断气。于是他的儿子齐缗王当了齐国的大王。（齐宣王一死，齐缗王把他拖下龙椅就坐上去当皇帝。百官跪拜！）齐缗王立即召见南郭先生，
南郭：My king! You want more people to play Yu? I’ll work on it at once.大王是想组建一支更强大的乐队？以您的威望，建一支四五百人的乐队，那才合适呢。我马上就去……
齐缗王：No,I don’t like so many people playing.I just like single playing.不，我不喜欢合奏，我喜欢听独奏！
南郭： 吃惊的）er… er… Yes,single playing is better.better… I will ask someone to play…啊！您，您，您喜欢……独，独奏？啊！独奏好啊，独奏清新、悦耳我，我马上就去叫人……

南郭： I am wrong.Let me go.Please,please… ------大王圣明，明察秋毫，小的知罪，饶了我吧 ……
（南郭先生被侍卫拖出去斩首，只听 啊的一声。 侍卫拖尸体下台。）
齐缗王：（面向大家）Will you follow him?南郭不学无术，欺上瞒下，死有余辜，
众臣：（拨浪鼓似的摇头）No,no,no.（跪拜） Smart king! Long lived king! 大王圣明，万岁万岁，万万岁！ （起身跟随， 离台）

场景：夏天，绿树，青草，白栅栏。丑小鸭躲在模拟的蛋壳内，鸭妈妈在蛋壳前面做孵蛋的样子，另外4只鸭蛋围住鸭妈妈，趴在地上成圆弧状。
音乐：（有鸟叫，知了叫等）及舞台布景组合出一幅恬静、温暖的乡村夏日风光图。
画外音：It is warm,A mother duck lies in the stook,waiting for the birth of her children.（太阳暖烘烘的，鸭妈妈卧在稻草堆里，等她的孩子们出世。）
鸭妈妈：Well,my babies,come out quickly please.I’m tired.（伸懒腰）哎，我的孩子们，你们怎么还不出世呀，可把妈妈累坏了！
鸭妈妈抚摸着鸭蛋，突然，一只鸭蛋动了一下。小鸭1站了起来，看了一下周围的世界说：

接着，另外3只小鸭从蛋壳里逐渐在妈妈的抚摸中钻出来，东张西望，看到妈妈后，惊喜地跑过去，

画外音：Spring comes,the flowers are blooming.Ugly duckling fly to the lake,he sees some beautiful white swans over there.They have white feather and slender necks.Ugly ducking wants to play with them.（春天来了，花开了，丑小鸭扑扑翅膀，向湖边飞去看见湖面上有几只美丽的白天鹅，雪白的羽毛，长长的脖子，美丽极了。他多想和他们一起玩啊！）
丑小鸭：Ah! Beautiful birds,your feather is so white,your necks is so slender,your posture is so nice,you are most dignity bird in the world! （啊！美丽的大鸟，你们的羽毛是那样洁白，你们的脖子是那样修长，你们的体态是那样优美，你们是世界上最高贵的鸟儿。）
